WHO WE ARE:
Xembly is an early-stage software startup transforming the multibillion-dollar software productivity space by solving the #1 problem for every worker on the planet: bad and unnecessary meetings. We are backed by some of the world’s best venture capital firms and growing fast.
We are establishing a team of talented machine learning and NLP experts, data scientists, and engineers to automate how employees can optimize their interactions with meetings they own or attend. We’re looking for people who pride themselves on being innovative and agile, while simultaneously willing and able to build highly reliable software in a team-oriented environment.
YOU WILL HAVE OWNERSHIP OF:
- Using machine learning, NLP, NLU, and Computational Linguistic techniques to automate the extraction and creation of core meeting assets including agendas, action items, decisions, and meeting recaps.
- Collaborating with other engineers to design and code highly scalable machine learning applications that process large volumes of data
- Researching and implementing novel new machine learning, and NLP algorithms
- Contributing to new research, data science, and engineering processes and systems that will allow the team and company to scale in the future
- Building features that make it easier for employees at all levels of an organization to optimize their meetings for high performance
YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS or advanced degree (MS or PhD preferred) in computational linguistics, machine learning, statistics, computer science, engineering, or related technical field or equivalent professional experiences
- 5+ years of experience in researching, implementing, training, testing, deploying, and monitoring advanced machine learning or NLP/NLU models
- Deep understanding of core NLP/NLU algorithms, tasks, model architectures, and open-source resources: Neural Networks (BERT, CNNs, Attention, etc,), rules-based approaches. Named Entity Recognition (NER) and Disambiguation, syntactic dependency parsing. Experience with associated tools: spaCy, gensim, NLTK, StanfordNLP; labeling/annotation tools (e.g. Prodigy)
- Demonstrated knowledge of SQL relational databases and NoSQL databases, along with strong data analysis, manipulation, and cleaning skills.
- Strong Python skills, preferably with some experience in one or more of the following additional languages: NodeJS, Java, Scala, C++, C#
• Experience with various machine learning platforms like TensorFlow, PyTorch/Torch, Keras, Scikit-learn, Spacy, Sagemaker, Azure ML, Google ML, Google prediction API
NICE TO HAVES:
- Published academic work in core machine learning (ML), NLP disciplines and/or open-source NLP software contributions
- Experience developing, testing, and shipping production software
- Knowledge of cloud services in AWS, for example EC2, S3, etc
- Familiarity with distributed source control management system such as GIT
- Experience with big data and streaming technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Storm
- Some ability to create data visualizations
